How it all started
Workheld GmbH was founded in 2015 by our CEO Benjamin Schwärzler (right in the picture) while he was still a student. With his expert knowledge in mechanical engineering, he already had a good understanding of the manufacturing industry. However, he identified a gap during his internships in large companies: workflows were complicated and tedious, and there was a lack of a platform for digital & automated workflows.
The management team consisting of: Daniel Ultsch (CTO), Christine Geier (COO) and Benjamin Schwärzler (CEO).
The beginning with Doppelmayr
It all started in 2011 when we evaluated tablet computers at Doppelmayr in order to improve on-site document management and optimize assembly processes.
Tablet Solutions GmbH
Then, a few years later, in 2015, Tablet Solutions GmbH was founded to build a multi-customer cloud platform called Workheld. Later, the GmbH was also renamed Workheld
The first investment
In 2016, we received our first investment, a research grant of €2 million, and the team was expanded by Christine Geier, our COO. She was previously Head of Global Field Service Applications at ThyssenKrupp Elevator.
Investment by K-Businescom
Finally, in 2019, K-Businesscom AG (then Kapsch Businesscom AG) invested in Workheld to strengthen the existing partnership.
EvoCall & EvoAssist and renaming to Workheld
In 2021, we were able to acquire EvoCall and the EvoAssist platform to develop the first integrated communication AND workflow platform for the industry. In addition, our GmbH was renamed Workheld by Tablet Solutions.
Workheld wins award for #SustainableDigitalisation
In 2022, we were able to win the “SustainableDigitalization” award from ICT Austria with our customer Fix Gebäudesicherheit + Service GmbH.
The Management Team
The management team consists of digital strategists who work in flat hierarchies on the creation of Workheld, a workforce management software that increases the efficiency of production, assembly and service processes.
Benjamin Schwärzler, MSc
Benjamin Schwärzler founded Tablet Solutions GmbH (now Workheld) in 2015. While still a student, he already had the idea for the cloud platform and was able to successfully realize it over the years with the help of a growing team.
Christine Geier, MBA
Christine Geier has been part of the team since 2016 and is a key reason why Workheld works so well today. With her many years of professional experience and IT expertise, Christine was a great asset to Workheld right from the start.
Daniel Ultsch, MSc
At the beginning of 2023, Daniel Ultsch took on the role of CTO and thus leads the development team. He also had many years of experience as a software engineer, as well as a managing director and self-employed person.
Martin Schober, DI
As Vice President for Digital Solutions at K-Businesscom, Martin Schober is the link between Workheld and K-Businesscom. As CSO, he is responsible for Sales Operations and is the direct contact person for our partner company K-Busisnesscom.
